brief

To build a content managed website where our research, event and fundraising information can be navigated quickly and easily. The website must play an integral part and support any future online or offline marketing activity.

our approach

From an aesthetic viewpoint it was paramount that we adhered to the YCR brand guidelines that we have built and developed over the years. So from the outset the design would be bold, clear and functional. We had a vast amount of database driven content and various departments to communicate, so we decided to divide the information into colour coded categories whilst leaving the top section in the key corporate colour. With so many changing events and fundraisers to communicate, we decided it would be key to advertise these in a series of bold website banner adverts which would rotate throughout the site. Each individual banner advert would have its own call to action and when clicked would take the user through to the relevant part of the site. This is now a key strategy of communicating priority call to actions throughout the site.

From a technical stance the entire website is now content managed which allows YCR the facility to keep the site constantly updated. We built an e-commerce shop and integrated additional key affiliates partners to help increase sales. We have built an e-newsletter application which helps to keep supporters informed, an e-card application which encourages users to send an online interactive card with a donation facility. All of the printed literature that we produce is also available on the site in the form of interactive animated e-brochures which can also be emailed as an alternative to posting helping to keep YCR's carbon footprint low. We've also integrated the marketing of the website into social media platforms such as Facebook, Myspace, Twitter and Bebo. We are also responsible for Search Engine Optimisation, AdWord Campaigns and Google Analytics to ensure YCR's investment grows. In a nutshell the new website is YCR's marketing hub, it informs, interacts and is core to all marketing activity.
